ChatGPT Gets a Built-In Image Editor

ChatGPT now includes a built-in image editor, making visual editing faster, simpler, and more precise. OpenAI has added a new Images section directly inside ChatGPT, turning it into a standalone photo editing tool.

The new image editor is powered by an updated image model that runs about four times faster than before. This means smoother edits and quicker results, all without leaving the ChatGPT interface.

One of the most important improvements is visual consistency. ChatGPT can remember how a person or object looked in previous images, so edits stay coherent across multiple frames. Instead of changing the whole image, the AI now follows instructions more accurately.

Users can make targeted edits such as changing a pose, adjusting lighting, modifying clothing, or replacing the background, while keeping the rest of the image intact. This moves image editing from “trial and error” to controlled and reliable changes.

Why does this matter? Because AI image tools are becoming truly useful for real creative workflows, not just experiments. With this update, ChatGPT is quietly evolving into a complete creative workspace, combining text and visual editing in one place.

The new ChatGPT image editor is already available to all users.
