NVIDIA Helps Germany Lead Europe’s AI Manufacturing Revolution

Germany and NVIDIA are launching what may be the most ambitious tech initiative in Europe this decade: the continent’s first industrial AI cloud, laying the foundation for an even more powerful project—the future European AI gigafactory.

This bold move follows a key meeting between NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, resulting in a strategic partnership with Deutsche Telekom. But this is far more than just another tech collaboration—it’s a clear step toward European technological sovereignty.

“In the era of AI, every manufacturer needs two factories: one for making things, and one for creating the intelligence that powers them,” said Huang.

The initial phase includes 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, forming Germany’s largest AI deployment to date. The goal? To empower European industry with the AI computing power needed to reimagine everything from design to robotics—moving from efficiency to full transformation.

What makes this initiative even more important is its democratic reach. Not only will industrial giants benefit, but also Germany’s Mittelstand—the network of highly specialized small and medium-sized enterprises—alongside startups, universities, and research institutions.

Among early adopters is NEURA Robotics, a leader in cognitive robotics. With the launch of the “Neuraverse,” robots will learn from each other, forming a shared intelligence network across tasks like welding, assembly, and even home assistance.

“Physical AI is the electricity of the future,” said David Reger, NEURA’s CEO. “We’re helping build the infrastructure Europe needs to stay in control of its tech future.”

This AI cloud is just phase one. The endgame is even bigger: the Europe-wide AI gigafactory, projected to launch in 2027 with 100,000 GPUs. Backed by the EU and Germany, it signals a serious intent to make Europe a global player in artificial intelligence.

For too long, Europe has depended on foreign tech. This project shows it’s ready to build its own path.
